Your baby's abdomen is round and large - with much of it from the liver.
The liver is creating red blood cells for your little one. The skull
contains five bony plates that are not connected. These are "little
fountains," or fontanels. This will allow your baby's head to fit through
the birth canal during delivery. Your baby's head may elongate during
delivery, creating a "cone head" after birth. Not to worry - this is only
temporary.
Your little one may weigh up to six pounds. Your discomfort
is increasing week by week, but all of this is worth it! Stay off your
feet as much as you can, with your legs on a foot rest if possible. This
will help the blood flow in your legs and will help to keep your feet and ankles
from swelling.
