Find Out Your Baby’s Gender at 10 Weeks
Are you carrying a boy or girl? Do you really want to know? What if you could find out at ten weeks? Would you? Apparently many would, and are doing so using the over-the-counter gender prediction test called IntelliGender. This test is marketed as a “boy or girl prediction test” and can be found in stores such as CVS and Walgreens, as well as online.
The company clearly states you should not paint the baby’s room pink or blue until your doctor indicates the sex of your baby through an ultrasound or amniocentesis. Yet the test claims a 78 to 80 percent accuracy rate – close enough to excite many new parents-to-be.
There is some concern over the outcome of a woman’s test in both India and China, due to the great desire for male babies over female. This is why the company has refused to allow the sale of it’s test in these countries.
On a positive note, putting a name to your baby early on can help a mother and father to feel more connected to their unborn child. Although the test is not 100% accurate, more than 50,000 US couples alone have purchased this test online to find out the gender of their baby. At ten weeks, this is earlier than ever before. So what will it be… pink or blue?
