actually saying that mouth peircings are the most dangerous is a very big misconception, if the person doing the peircing is qualified and using sterile equiptment then there is a very low chance of infection as the mouth naturally fights off infection with the host of good bacteria that live there. of course if the jewelry rubs against the teeth or gums excessively then you should have the brains to have it removed but an experienced peircer should be able to place it so it shouldnt rub or recommend against the procedure if your mouth is not suitable. i have had a lip percing for over 3 years now with absolutly no ill effects it healed after a week and i naturally ajusted to it being there. i am a big fan of tattoos and peircings but i am personally carefull not to do anything that will disfigure my body.
all i can say is if you have a child who wants peircings and wont let up , comprimise and go for the nose it heals very quickly and is genrally very small, the only downside is the nose ive found is the most painfull place to peirce on the face , once removed the small hole either heals or is barely visible. teenagers like to experiment and telling them not to do somthing probibly wont work for most, be open minded and positive and your child might be more willing to listen.
i have afew pericings and have experince looking after them, and cannot stress hygiene enough. listen to the piercer or your doctor because alot of advice for cleaning you will find on the net is to fault for scarring infections and delayed healing periods. percings dont have to be offensive looking and clear retainers can be put in if you wish make them not visible for work and/or special occasions. i know i love my peircings but i know others hate them, so i try to be as respectfull as possible in certain circumstances, you will always be faced with people who look down on you for your choice of self expression.
and remeber facial jewelry can always be removed later in life and as long as you havnt had stretchers put in you should be left without any facial disfiguration.
hopefully ive been helpfull , and if i stepped on anyones toes i apologise. afterall when it comes to your childeren the choice is yours ive seen many irresponsible young girls end up with serious infections because of backalley belly peircings so i understand your caution. good luck to all you girls out there.

Eva, I have seen many made from 100% cotton. The most important part is that it is strong enough to hold your baby and is something that can be washed. It can’t be so thick that you can’t tie it as well. Good luck… these are so wonderful!

Hi we have been trying to conceive for 2 years now with no luck. I have pcos and do not ovulate or do not know when i ovulate. On sun 1/5 i had sex and afterwards noticed some blood when i wiped. After that not every time there was a small amount. I called my ivf nurse and she said to start taking the pill, so we can start ivf. But i am not sure if this is my period or someghing else. Very confused. Also i wanted to know is it good doing acupuncture whiles doing ivf?please let me know your thoughts.

I am a perfectly healthy 37 yr old trying for my first baby. We have been TTC for 6 months without luck yet It may not seem like a long time for some people, but for me it feels like an eternity!
I have been on Prenatal vitamins since we started TTC (folic acid, vitamin B6, etc) and trying to lead the healthiest lifestyles possible.
I have just discovered the sites talking about herbal remedies and fertility boosting herbs such as Vitex, which I have started 1 wk ago. I would really like to try natural conception rather than turnin to synthetic hormones just yet.
I was wondering if anyone has had any success with Vitex, I need some encouragement!
Thanks for sharing your stories and/or advice to improve the chances!

Hi,

I know this is a really old post but I just wanted to warn Jenny about Vitamin A. Please check with your doctor before taking this. I have suffered from severe cystic acne for years and have used a number of vitamin A treatments which come with a bright yellow sticker stating do not use if pregnant or planning to become pregnant. I asked the doctor about it and he advised above normal doses of vitamin A causes birth defects.

I am not sure whether this was because the dose in the medication was a high dose, though it was only a cream I was using on my skin, not a tablet delivered straight into the blood stream.

I hope everything works out well.

I told my in-laws on Father’s Day! We handed out the cards, one for his dad, his brother-in-law and one to my husband. They all opened them and read them aloud. It took everybody a couple of minutes to realize my husband got a father’s day card? It was priceless and was a neat way of telling everyone.

My Bf & I have never used contreceptives in the past 7yrs(use2 use “pull out” way)but then many times he didnt pull out on axident and adventually we don’t bother. We use to fear getting pregnant, then we didn’t mind if it happened but now were r both worried that we can’t when ready since its just NEVER happened.we have gone to doctors and apparently we r both in great condition for conceiving.I looked at the fertility tips and our diet is very simular to foods it suggested, we walk/power walk our dogs all the time and we love to swim, so we excersize and I wouldn’t call it over exersize. We consume alcohal maybe every 4-6months and not much, we don’t smoke. I wouldn’t say we r very stressed. What is it we r doing wrong?

Freezing is a great way to preserve the nutritional value, make sure it is in a deep freeze and in safe containers, glass or bpa, phalate free plastic containers. A lot of the time if you are freezing garden veggies, they will likely have more nutritional value than something that is sold as fresh in the supermarket that came from another country since they are picked early so that they ripen in transit. In the winter often if you buy frozen veggies they will have more nutritional value than the fresh. It something to think about.

I understand Vitex will regulate menstrual periods. It takes about three months for women to “balance out.” Perhaps if you take this and use a basal thermometer by the third month you will be able to find exactly when you are ovulating!

Your doctor can tell you exactly when you should start trying to conceive. They have a “pregnancy wheel’ that will count the days back you would need to start trying. And remember, it doesn’t always happen the first time. What a wonderful experience. I had planned on water birth for my first child. It wasn’t until near delivery that complications arose and I ended up with a C-section. While I was disappointed about the water birth, I was relieved my son and I come through the ordeal just fine.

Sammy, that is a GREAT idea! Thank you so much for sharing! When i was in labor with my third I was STARVING… so hungry I could not STAND it. They didn’t let me eat… so between the hungry AND the thirsty it was tough. Would have loved to try your trick!

while i was in labor with my first i was so thirsty but they say dont chug the water because you’ll get sick…well when you’re super thirsty its hard to control that urge so the way that i found to keep your mouth and throat from being so dry is if you have an extra hand soak a clean wash cloth in some cold water and in between contractions suck on the wash cloth so you avoid drinking too much too fast.

I used to put on a Baby Einstein video when I needed to make dinner and my baby simply didn’t want me to. I didn’t expect my boys to become smarter – they simply enjoyed the videos! I loved them too, with the cute music and animals – PLUS I was able to get a few minutes to cook!

Yes, they would require an IV with an epidural. Maybe you can talk to your doctor about them giving you an anti-nausea medication in the I.V.? Good luck and congratulations!

This is a very helpful article! I actually am very nauseated by IVs and do not want one so I am glad to know I can refuse it. If you do the epidural though do you have to also have IV in your arm?

I like these ideas. I wanted to do something fun for my family to tell them I was pregnant. So I asked everyone to come to my house for lunch and when they pulled up they saw huge pink and blue bows all over my trees and garden. Everyone came at different times so I got to great them with hugs and tears every few minutes!

Tucks pads will be your best friend after you have a baby even if you have stitches i used those for a long time and the water bottle to is also great.

Tucks medicated pads really help in place of the hard hospital toilet paper. They are cool and medicated so they help all the way around!

Hey!!

Some hospitals and birthing centers allow it, but me and my husband brought along the xbox. Its GREAT at distracting you from the pain. Much better than music or a movie.
